Anyway. Written sound bites from my life:
- Wednesday's leak over the desk of my coworker appears to be from a frozen pipe and has something to do with the humidifier on the roof.
- Three 13-year-olds. In my living room. I count...uh...20? 30?...videogame cases, four gaming systems (PSP, Game Cube, 2 Gameboys) and accompanying equipment, 7 pillows of varying sizes and shapes and colors, 1 boombox with 8 CD cases, 2 sleeping bags, 4 blankets, and 2 overnight bags--all in the middle of the floor. With the boys, whose eyes are perpetually turned, like flowers to sunlight, toward the TV. There is a surprising amount of food left in the kitchen. And they did manage to sleep from 12:30ish till 7:30ish.
- One of them can do a heartbeat sound with his throat. One of them has extreme Morning Hair. One of them has an inch-long laceration in his scalp (he arrived that way). They went and saw "Epic Movie" last night and can't stop quoting lines from it, even though they haven't seen most of the movies on which it takes its humor.
- Yesterday was haircut day for me, plus I got to eat lunch with Beast at Applebee's in commemoration of our trip to Applebee's 14 years ago on the evening of February 2.
- I talked to both of my oldest nieces last night. Katherine asked me to come over on Monday to keep her company. Elizabeth had a birthday (37!) this week, so I owed her a call. They are good people.
- I have to work today. I'm turning off Bloglines on my work PC, and possibly my Gmail, so that I can concentrate. [hah]
- Super Bowl party tomorrow. Yeah. Guess I ought to be thinking about what we're serving our guests.
- "White and Nerdy" OMG -- I have a weird kid.
- The current outside temperature is 9. Tomorrow's high temp is supposed to be 0. Gotta love winter.
Or totally not, as the case may be. - Today's the anniversary of the ratification of the 15th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Not that it meant much for over 100 years....
