Scheduling is difficult

It's especially hard if you don't look at the calendar to find out who is working on any given day. A-Man is on the schedule all over the place today. He never works Saturdays with me, and he's not on the calendar to work today. Upon calling him this morning, he was horrified but pretty sure he wasn't supposed to be here. Schedule Nazi, thinking he was on the schedule, neglected to find someone to actually be here.

So far, I have covered a lunch hour at the Circ Desk followed by a "nursing hour" while someone went and fed her baby. I can't complain about either issue, but if I go now to get lunch, I might as well skip dinner...which is sorta sucky for my kids' birthday. So I'm not going for lunch, electing to blog and eat Cheetos and Skittles at my desk, and be pissed. Mostly at myself for not figuring this out early enough to run get something at 11.

All of this goes to show you that no matter what database system we end up using, we'll still have to deal with the weird personalities of the staff. I can't fix that, so I might as well get cranky about the stuff I can control. Like the dozens of skinny kids' books on my cart waiting to be cataloged.

Onward, into the breach, with Pebble Books' Dog series....
Woof.

[at least I look good today....and UB40 is singing in my headphones]
