What lake?

Yeah, there's a lake nearby...not that we can see it. It's private. We pay for the lake, but can only use one little public beach, directly across the lake from where we live. It's a man-made lake, and it needs dredging, but the people who use it and own lakefront property don't think they should foot the bill, so we who live in the area are supposed to be happy to pay for the upkeep. Even though we can't really use it. It's really a joke of a lake, well-known for its very own 'brand' of illnesses. So that is why this blurb in this morning's paper is so NOT news:
I... Ridge 2 North and S... Ridge beaches on [...] Lake are closed after a water sampling taken Thursday revealed high bacteria levels.

The beach was retested Friday. Results will be available today.

The ... County Department of Health tests all licensed beaches on the 13 lakes in the county every two weeks. For beach water results call the department ....
Swimmer's Itch, anyone? Available, free, at your local "pristine" lake! Wait, it's only free if you have access to those private beaches. Happy swimming all you lakefront property owners!

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT:
I'm off to work. My intention is to be there for about 10 hours and get a CRAPload of a work done so I don't stress about everything while I'm gone next week. We'll see what reality brings.
