We have Internet

Not a lot of sleep, but Internet!

Our flight was delayed about two hours last night. From the reactions of some people, you would have thought we were delayed overnight. It was mightily entertaining to eavesdrop on ALL the phone conversations that commenced after the first delay. After the second and third announcement, it just got tiresome. People: would you rather fly in a plane that has working equipment? Or take your chances on one that isn't quite up to par? I'm voting for the first choice, personally.

Two questions about air travel in the 00s:

1. Why, with the increasing number of flight delays, does one need to be at the airport two hours ahead of time? We sat around for 5 hours yesterday, even though we knew before leaving home the flight was delayed. Nope, still gotta be there two hours before the scheduled time....stupid.

2. I never had to take my shoes off in the Soviet Union for security reasons.

Enough whining. I'm driving a Very Cool Car, upgraded for free from boring mid-size compact: . Yes it's an SUV. But it's a hybrid! And I haven't wrecked it. Yet. :-)

Sparky has developed a cough since yesterday morning. We got to the hotel room last night at midnight local time. He promptly crashed (like, within 5 minutes of hitting the pillow, after he stopped shaking uncontrollably...stress reaction?). I lasted till 1 a.m. He was awake, and coughing, at 6. Shit.

That is all. It's a beautiful day here, until noonish when it's supposed to storm.
