Sick day

Sparky is home sick again today. I have a very suspicious mind, but I'm trying to be a Good Mommy. Called the attendance office, called my boss, called the doctor, took him to the doctor...yeah...I don't have a suspicious enough mind. He's fine: a little sinus thing causing a little drainage, probably no strep, and who-knows-what going on at school that he doesn't want to participate in. It took us about 35 minutes to drive from the clinic back home--it's normally about a 15-20 minute drive.

Because, yeah, it's snowing over the ice-hard roads. What that means is that it's warmer (yay!), but snowing. Over. Ice. And I don't feel good again today (I've decided it's post-cat syndrome; this is the way I felt two weeks ago after spending the day with Katherine and her cats), so I've now got a terrifically tense back from trying to stay on the road on top of feeling squashed and dopey.

All I can say is that Sparky is helping me shovel after we eat lunch.

Cuz, sick? Not so much.

Punk.

I say that a little lovingly, because after all he got me out of work today, and I can--I hope--take a nap this afternoon.
