- Pick up Rx for Beast; stop at post office to check mailbox
- Wrap shower gifts
- Call church: can we borrow centerpieces (yes)? what kind of bread do we need for Communion tomorrow (2 loaves? maybe....? no one knows)?
- Plan games for shower
- Make list of items to take for shower
- Make grocery list
- Flip through cookbooks looking for a salad recipe for Monday; add ingredients to grocery list
- Call Borders--they have the book in stock and will hold it
- Sim
- Start making party favors
- Watch an hour of Survivor on tape, but not reunion (Yay Person Who Won--in case there are others who have managed to not find out!)
- Call high school kids about tomorrow morning, and other youth leader
- Go to Borders and grocery store--at 9 p.m.
- Finish party favors
- Sim and watch Beast play Tiger Woods Golf
- Bed...at 1:30 (after setting alarm for 6:20)
- Up at 7, cramming in Pop-Tarts, skipping shower
- Pick up kids at church for deliveries of food and toys/books to residents in need
- At 10 we're done (but this town has the most confusing streets EVER!); take the kids to McD's for breakfast
- Pick up deli trays and cake; hey, wouldn't a shopping cart be a GREAT IDEA? (duh)--There are 6 containers in all
- Home
- Message from nephew: "hey, are we doing anything for Christmas?" (yeah, doofus, there's a party today, too); Beast calls back and leaves him a message
- Message from VS--they found my 'lost' bag; Beast calls them back too because he's a really super-nice guy. We'll go pick it up after the party
- Bring everything we need to the dining room table staging area
- Sit down and type up answer sheets for shower games, while also creating games
- Borrow Sparky's hair gel and "do something with my hair--ponytail, sigh, no time for a shower--and change into dressier clothes: cords and Coldwater Creek sweater
- Start loading car
- To library, unload car, decorate, put out food, organize, find kids' music CDs in kids' area, photocopy game stuff
- Beast leaves to get ice, napkins, spoons (which we barely use), and bread for Communion
- My nephew's mom & stepdad and grandparents arrive
- I find out I told people to turn at a street that has a different name than the one I told them (did I tell you...the most confusing streets EVER!); everyone gets lost....sigh...last person arrives at 3:45 for a 3:00 party
- Cut back on games, but play a couple
- Open prezzies
- Almost forget to cut the cake, but do so
- People begin to leave
- We clean, put away tables, restack gifts, and separate what goes home with us; Sparky deals with trash
- I'm allowed to bring leftover food--lots and lots!--instead of salad on Monday! yay
- My stomach implodes--I can't drive an hour to the mall to pick up the 'lost' bag feeling like this
- We reload the car, drop the church stuff off (centerpieces and bread) and head home
- Unload car
- Beast and Sparky head to mall; I deal with my stomach
- Finally feel better, so decide to try taking a bath
- Beast and Sparky return
- Blog while watching horrible football and then American Justice (A&E)
- Sim (I hope) when blogging is sorted
- Beast and Sparky
- Up by 7
- Wash hair
- Church at 9
- Beast has to count the offering money and deposit it
- Find out if I have a Session meeting Tuesday night
- Stop at library bookdrop near house and empty it out
- Home
- Do dishes
- Call Mom
- Put away shower leftovers
- Make sure all gifts are wrapped for Christmas
- RELAX!!!
- Christmas Eve service
- Dinner at our Chinese place
- Drive around looking at lights
- Home and open one gift
- After Sparky hits the sheets, stuff stockings
- Bed by 9:00 or so
- Up no earlier than 7
- Unwrap presents
- Snack and play till 11
- Prep for departure to niece and nephew's house
- Pack car with leftover shower food, presents, silverware, etc.
- Arrive by 1
- We are going to have to leave by 4: there are 4 cats in this house!!
