Dredging for post topics

My life is dull-yet-freaking-me-out and I don't want to think about it. I spent the evening Simming on the GameCube, cleaning up for the cleaning lady (sigh--I am a bad cartoon), and reading up everything in Bloglines. It's not time to go to bed yet--well, it could be, but I'd be awake by 4--so I'm wandering the internet. I came across this site, Modern Life, that lists the 10 most popular English-language passwords (primarily in the UK):
10. 'thomas'
9. 'arsenal'
8. 'monkey'
7. 'charlie'
6. 'qwerty'
5. '123456'
4. 'letmein'
3. 'liverpool'
2. 'password'
1. '123'
The conclusion the author makes is this: "The above figures mean that 1.8% of people use one of the above passwords - and 6.5% of people share a password from the top 100 list."

I can honestly say that NONE of my passwords are on this list, nor are they even close...well, ok, one of them is sorta close, but not really. However, one of the passwords for one of the things we use at the library is one of these. (Could I be more oblique?) It's not something that we really need to worry about anyone hacking, which is why it's so lame.

However, I always strongly recommend to people signing up for stuff on the computers at the library NOT to use their first name, and don't (for God's sake) write it on your library card! {eyeroll}

Now I'm off to read something else on the same site called "Hexadecimal Colour Mnemonics." I am truly a dweeb, as well as a bad cartoon.
