So, yeah, I can access my work email from home. Lucky me, eh?
The 'normal' way of doing that is going to our library system's page and clicking on the Email link which then takes you to a new window with a login screen. Rather than dorking around with all that, I've got the new window's URL bookmarked so I just type it in to the address line and a box pops up asking for my login/password.
What bothers me is that the first three letters of the URL are 'owa.' I normally only have to type 'ow' and it finishes the rest for me.
But..."ow"?? "Owa"?? Yes, yes, I know it stands for "Outlook Web Access."
The problem is that this is what we always use in my family when a kid scrapes a knee. Most people say "owie;" we've somehow moved to "owa," pronounced ow(as in 'ouch')-uh.
"Look, it's just an owa." "Oh, do you have an owa?"
Work = owa.
Hmmmm, there's a psychological hurdle I'll be struggling to get over for awhile, I think!
