It was too good to last

This just in my work emailbox, from The Boss:

Hi everyone,

The City of [Where-I-Work] has instituted a dress code for anyone who works "front line" (that is all of us). As of today, jeans will no longer be acceptable, even on Saturdays. Library pages—you have special permission from the city manager to wear jeans, but please ensure that they are clean, without holes and look presentable.

The idea is to increase the appearance of professionalism for the public. With that in mind, our code will also include no tank tops and most t-shirts (other than library related).

Luckily, I didn't wear blue jeans today. I'm in a bit of a quandary, since ALL my pants are jeans, except one pair of somewhat dressy slacks. Obviously, the blue jeans are out, but what about these Gloria Vanderbilt stretch twill jeans I'm wearing today? Sigh.

I need to go shopping....
