Church

Tonight we finally had the groundbreaking for our new church building. Like everything else with this project, it was not done in our well-planned time: originally scheduled on Sept. 10, it rained that day and on the rain-date. The ground was actually broken in August, so there is already a partial wall on the north side of the building. Tonight's festivities included a cookout, music, kids playing in dirt, and dogs running around. It was lovely.

Beast was on the committee that advised purchase of the land, and began working on the actual construction about 7 years ago. Things derailed multiple times between then and this year and because of work commitments and health issues, he dropped off the building committee.

His heart is in this building. He was sniffling a little tonight, and not just because it was chilly outside either.

It will be SO GOOD to be out of our current moldy and 35%-unusable building, into a new, fully-functional facility. We should be moving in the spring, right around Easter. Hurrah!
