There are three meetings coming up in the next few weeks that I'm dreading; one is Thursday. We will be 'trained' to use the new database system by the system suppliers. If this training is anything like the phone 'training' we had earlier this year, I might as well turn off the brain immediately upon walking into the room.
Then we have a system-wide Cataloger's meeting at the end of the month, where I will do one of the following:
a) fall asleep and drool on my notebookAnd then there's something coming in September, but I'm blocking that for as long as possible.
b) make a terrible impression by giggling, snorting and rolling my eyes throughout the meeting
c) be forced to imbibe/inhale/swallow something just to make it through alive
d) be arrested for murder
e) all of the above
f) some of the above
RE Stoopid Pseudo-Catalogers: If you can't even figure out the punctuation for something that applies to every single book and that hasn't changed in, oh, 80 years, you shouldn't be calling yourself a cataloger. As I said in my note last week:
145 p. 20 cm. That would be WRONG!
*This* is right: 145 p. ; 20 cm.
ON THE OTHER HAND...
Who knew I was one of "The Best"? These guys over here said so.
And I'm in some damn-fine company.
There are some names on the list I recognize; they're on my blogroll. There are a lot of others that I don't recognize...sigh. So much for paring down my blogroll!
