Incommunicado

I'm going to a conference tonight and tomorrow. We leave on the train just before 2 today and I probably won't be home until about 8 tomorrow night. I'm in two minds about it: I want to go (God knows I need all the joy I can get), but...

...I'll be fine once I'm there. I do this before everything: can't be bothered, blah blah. It's why pre-purchased tickets are such a good thing for me because they tell me I have to go, no backing out, you paid for this already. In the case of this conference, I would be substantially goofing up a lot of other people's planning and selling cheap a lot of free goodwill. So I'll go. And I'll have fun, be energized, learn something, and come home tired and refreshed. Hopefully, there won't be too much completely off-the-wall (IMHO) theology.

We're staying at a fancy hotel tonight, too. That helps. And Nicole Mullen is suppopsed to be there; I love her music (which you will be subjected to if you click on the link--fair warning).

Still, I'd rather be at Jen!c@'s shower, which is precisely the other direction from where I'm going. How annoying.

I haven't packed, I haven't showered, I haven't gone to the ATM, and I need to get started on some of those things now.

Today's blessing seems very appropriate:

May the great Master of Comfort comfort you,
and let compassion be your temple of worship.
Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace.
Walk and envision.

Anyway. Wish me luck and traveling mercies.
