I started watching Shoah last night. I saw it in the theater over two nights when I was in college. I don't think I breathed during the second night. Haven't said anything to Sparky about the subject matter, just "They're speaking German" (he wants to take German in high school), and "Now they're speaking French." They also speak Polish and Yiddish (I think) up to the point I stopped. In any case, I'm hoping something catches his attention and he watches some of it.

There's a quote from it which really resonated, but I didn't write it down because I couldn't see properly. It was in response to "Why do you smile all the time?" The answer: You can smile or you can frown. If you're alive you should smile.
