Midday miscellany

Weather: 45 degrees (feels like 45); it's a beautiful day and I'm stuck in a windowless room.
Mood: I'm...here
Listening to: Josh Groban
Where am I? Work

There's something about listening to a lovely male voice singing in Italian. What's funny is that I'm cataloging a pile of CDs right now, and Pavoratti's on the top of the stack. I won't be listening to that one!

Oy, now he's started singing in Spanish.

Last night at dinner they were playing Andrea Bocelli, whom I haven't listened to in eons.

Don't worry, I'm not going soft: I finished Prince's 1999, got all the way through Rattle & Hum and the 3 Doors Down disc I had squirrelled away earlier.

After Josh, I've got Everclear's Songs from An American Movie and a "Best of" Putumayo disc.

Two staff people today have mentioned that we have a New Weirdo. He has been here at closing the past three days, going so far as to hide out in one of the women's restrooms last night at closing. I haven't seen him yet, but he sounds mildly frightening. The joy of working in a (public) library: he's clearly mentally ill (rocking and talking to himself), tall, scary-eyed, and (we think) homeless. Can't wait to 'meet' him. Remember, I wanted to work in a library where I met all kinds of people. Heh.

I think I have a slight fever. Probably, it would be a good thing to go home early today. So much for shopping....
