As promised earlier this week, here are some photos from our getaway. I'm posting about half of what I took. Obviously, we had other stuff going on. This is the front of our cabin. It was about 16' x 16' inside. Cozy. Not great if you value privacy from whomever you're sharing it with. Perfect if you value privacy from the rest of the world. This is what you see from the back door looking in. To the left there ... is a 2 person hot tub. I love hot tubs. I wish the hot tub fairy would visit my house. This was a house-warming gift we received almost three years ago when we moved. We finally opened it, and it was delicious and fun and just what Dom should be (I guess, never having had it before...). A nice little treat. We did leave the house a bit. Here's a nearby view of a Very Big River, looking north. As my mother would say: "Look at all that GREEEEN!"
It was so freakin' hot the day I took most of these pictures. You can tell, a bit, in this photo; it looks hazy. It wasn't hazy--that's humidity in the air.
All the green 'halo effect' in the water in the previous picture is lily pads, like those below. This photo is now my wallpaper. I have a weird thing about lily pads, probably because we don't have a lot of them in Colorado, it having a somewhat more arid environment. So that's some of what we saw on our 'vacay.' We also had some incredible Italian food--really wonderful. We ate lunch the other day in a cafe attached to a Harley shop, where I was moderately tempted to get something pierced, or tattooed. But...I didn't. And neither did Beast. Heh. But the burgers were the best I've had in quite awhile.
Now, I'm off to work the late shift today. Mama needs to pay for her time off!
P.S. The Hag says it's ok for librarians to swear. She's abso-fuckin-lutely right, too.
