One of my regularly scheduled tasks is to clean out my email at work every few months or so. The reminder flag has been popping up all month. Today's the day, finally!
In my inbox, before I'm starting, I have 1,453 items. I've already deleted about 900 items from "Sent" and from several of the folders I use to categorize (e.g. each listserve I receive things from...). Now I have to go through those Inbox items and decide if I need to keep them and whether they should be in one of the folders.
I should learn to do the sorting, at least, upon receipt.
On the other hand, it's kind of nice to reread the stuff I have saved in "Personal Stuff."
[90 minutes later: I have deleted 1085 items, total, and I'm still left with 961 in my Inbox. I'm up to January. And my eyes are falling out. To be continued...]
