More on MSA

Apparently, MSA is a newer term for a different brain problem. The description of symptoms here sounds exactly like what's been going on with my sister. The prognosis is bad. One site I read--which I can't find now--says most people who develop MSA live only 5-10 years after the diagnosis. I suspect part of that is because it's relatively unheard-of, so by the time someone is actually diagnosed, they're pretty far along.

My sister was diagnosed with the PD in 1998, but only within the last 2 years has the deterioration sped up to the point that every day is a new problem. This MSA thing is news to me, but who knows how long she (or her doctors) have been holding back the info.

In any case, the news is bad.
