Today

...is a strange day. I will be at work for 3 hours or so, till 11:30.

Then I leave, get gas in the truck, grab food and drive an hour to a meeting wherein we will learn about the "underlying organization of the S*rs* Automated System. Especially the policies that control circulation and statistics." That's the full extent of the information provided. I never noticed that "circulation" part; was hoping for more info re cataloging. Maybe I can steer that direction.

All this in prep for the meeting Monday: "It's what you have been waiting for! Our first big chance to talk about item types, item categories, and locations (oh my!) for our new merged consortium. These are the elements that control circulation and statistics.

This meeting will serve as one of our first steps in coming to agreement on how to set up our merged S*rs* Unc0rn system so that it serves us all well."

And--this is sad--I'm looking forward to all the wrangling; it's fun. For me. The interpersonal stuff should be absolutely fascinating to watch, if nothing else!

Meanwhile, I have to be home in time this afternoon to feed Sparky, get him changed into appropriate clothes, and go back to school by 6:30 for the second band concert in the past five weeks. {Shoot me--this is not something I look forward to!} Judging by the weather forecast, we'll also be needing to shovel out the driveway, either tonight or tomorrow morning. Hope I can get the snowblower started.

Did I mention homework? No, I didn't think so.

It's a long week. Again.
