Friday

So, I'm home all day today. Here's my list:
  • Take Sparky to school with his "dragon egg" and the rest of the project done by 8:30 a.m.
  • Go to Sam's Club done by 12:30
  • Go to allergist for shot done by 12:30
  • Go to grocery store done by 2:30
  • Casserole Patrol for family with 3-year-old triplets, a 3-week-old baby, and a mom who was in the hospital--again--this week done and delivered by 6 p.m. after the usual "stupid Cat. in the kitchen" stuff
  • Get card for coworker whose father is expected to die sometime in the next couple of days
  • Talk to people at Sparky's school (I left messages with two teachers on Tuesday, and again on Wednesday, and still haven't heard anything from either of them) checked in with the assistant principal around 4, but the others haven't called me YET! 7:45 pm.
  • Call about arranging a drop-off place for Christmas greens for Sr. High group had a brainstorm on this about 12--why not leave everything at the new property!? Wooohooo!
  • Cull house for stuff for library garage sale (proceeds to the community Christmas project to which the library contributes Scholastic Book Fair income--we make sure each child whose family receives a food basket also receives a book)
  • Clean off desk before it gets completely out of control
  • Clean bathroom, especially tub
  • Update accounts done by 8:30
  • Look over Bible Study stuff?
  • Pick up Sparky, ensuring that he has all of his homework for the weekend done 4:00
I wish I could say that I could update my book blog, but I haven't had much time to read lately. I'm ploughing through John Irving's newest. I'm happily surprised to say that it's not bad. I may actually put him on my reading list (although it's disturbing to read about a 9-year-old boy being sexually "trained" by a 16-year-old girl at his school--I'm trying to skim-without-skimming this part).

It's gloomy and cold outside. I'm dreading winter this year, trying to stay positive, but deep inside I fear it will be pure hell. Odd to be terrified of amorphous things like "Cold" and "Dank." But there you go: I am.

I'm really tired. Maybe I can get a nap in this afternoon...ha ha ha. [nope, no nap]
