Bloglines housekeeping

Another "smoosh" post of stuff I've read recently, stuff I liked.

George Bush likes nicknames. A lot.

He also likes editorial writers. A lot.

Intelligent Design: sigh. Give it up. Admit the fact that for all intents and purposes,
Darwin had the gist of things RIGHT. Jeez. How about using some of this time and
effort making the world a better place.

Broil v. Grill. International cooking'll get you every time.

OCLC has released its Top 1000. I think I'm the last library-related blog to mention that fact.

Jen!c@'s bookshelves. Way cool. Won't fit in my house. Boo-hoo.

Yes, I scrapbook. Yes, I take (too many) pictures. But I'll be dipped if I'll ever be a Lifebrarian. Yuck. Guess where we won't be purchasing our next computer....grrr.

Time-waster/game. Can't wait to play!

I like what Sir Walt has to say about choosing to watch TV. Especially towards the end: "On the other hand, your choice to opt out of an entire slice of contemporary culture doesn’t give you moral superiority." I've been getting waves of that lately over my choices in TV viewing, from people with, literally, no lives. Which excludes everyone who is reading this, I presume. ;-)

Anyone who hasn't lived in or visited Germany recently probably doesn't know what a Handy is. It's NOT what you may think! Just think: English is now despoiling German: there is an actual "language" called Denglish, with it's own dictionary. True. Also, amusing: my favorite is "Drag-and-Drop": Zieh und Plumps.
See Cat panic: they can't raise the price on my music! Oh, whew, they aren't.

Am I the only one who doesn't even glance at spam? I must be. Though, with this list, I may have to pay closer attention. I think my favorite is "Irritatingly P. Backpack."

I love Kurt Vonnegut.

If you want to let people know how you blog, you can do so here.

Google is trying to steal thunder from Bloglines. Hmmm.... Another toy. Do I need
another toy?

This is what should be inscribed over every public library reference desk. FUNNY. And true.

Speaking of funny, time to drop Bush on his head.

Miriam discusses poverty, discovering that a sense of humor helps.

She also linked to another Miriam discussing God and Katrina (and, by extension, other natural disasters). Not funny, but thought-provoking.

Then there are Clueless Religious People who think bloggers are sexual predators. Or victims.

Google isn't the best search engine? Uh-oh.

Whew. Bed time, I think.
