Autumn photos

I love these dark oak leaves. It was a bright sunny day, but I found some shade as the sun went down and took several shots of these leaves. This one is the best, I think.

This is what the fields and farms around my house have been looking like for the past couple of weeks. Just a hint of color, but more and more every day, until suddenly the trees are naked.

I'm not taking any pictures of naked trees. They depress me.

When I was growing up, "sumac" was a dirty word. We had gobs of it growing next to the house, outside my bedroom window. It's nearly impossible to kill, and it spreads like mad. But it's sure pretty on the roadside in the fall:

Welcome to autumn in the midwest! Or, in cow: MOOoooo-ooooOO!
