Depressing kids' books

Weather: 28 degrees (feels like 19); cloudy
Mood: Dizzy and lightheaded again
Listening to: blowers
Where am I? work

Apparently the children's librarian has been notified that we don't have enough picture books about death.

I've cataloged about ten new picture books today. Every single one has the subject heading "Death--Juvenile fiction." We have dead grandmothers, dead grandfathers, a dead father, a dead friend....

How cheery.
{Later: I've just realized that one of the adult librarians ordered all this stuff. She also ordered several parents-guides-to-dealing-with-death books. Hmmm, wonder what's going on here. She doesn't seem depressed. ha}
Between that and the stack of donated Hardy Boys books from 1970 which we have to add, and the hardcover book-club romances, I'm going ever-so-quietly mad. I certainly don't have anything clever to say about anything.

So I'll just sign off for now, with the news that I finally have updated my book blog, I've done a few memes today, and that is all that I can muster up energy to accomplish aside from working.
