Saturday at work

Weather: 11 degrees (feels like 2); sunny, breezy COLD
Mood: OK
Hair: Look, you just really don't want to know. Hence the baseball cap I brought from home
Listening to: currently, the blowers because the headphones made my ears hurt

I have gotten through the following CDs today:
Alanis Morissette--Under Rug Swept
Beeenie Man--Best of...
[most of] Wilco--A Ghost is Born
Next up:
Vanessa Carlton--Be Not Nobody
Phish--Undermind
From a work standpoint, it's been a good day. I've emptied my Problem Crate, cataloged and passed along almost 60 books, including the whole flamin' Mobil Travel Guide 2005 set (that's 21 books alone!), and thrown a bunch of notes to myself away.

Now I start looking for records for stuff that no one else around here owns. Whee. Back on with the headphones.

Once I get those downloaded into the database, I can crank out another 40 or so books and get my cart cleared. The idea is to have an abundance of dumping places for people to choose from while I'm gone next week.

I have to mention, my totally-consuming nerdiness of the past week: while The Beast was gone and I didn't have to share the PC at home, I updated my "Favorite Authors" list, compiled all the books they've written since the last time I did this, and printed off all the books/'reviews' for 2004 for my paper file (now over 10 years long). All that's left is writing up the index cards for the cardfile.

That list that last week had about 80 authors on it now has almost 90. Almost 1200 books, most of which are unread by me. Huh.

And, mind you--here comes the nerdiness quotient--doing all this cheered me up.

Yeah.

Back to the books at hand for now, the first of which is called Santa Fe Passenger Trains in the Streamlined Era." ...zzzz....

{PS: Sparky is sparky again. Just a 24-hour thing. Hopefully, he has not infected me.}
