It figures

After getting to bed almost an hour late last night due to my STUPID meeting lasting over 2-1/2 hours--instead of the normal hour, tops--Sparky woke up at 4:00 this morning and threw up.

Needless to say, he's not going to school. He's asleep on the couch. This is a clear sign that he's sick: he never, ever sleeps during the day.

I have some blood tests scheduled this morning. It's a fasting blood-draw, so I'm hungry, with no food on the horizon till 11. I hardly think I'll starve! But my tummy's empty, which tends to lead me quickly to Cranky-Land.

Here's the quandary: Do I wake Sparky and drag him with me? Do I wake him and to tell him I'm going, but leave him home? Do I let him sleep and try to hurry (ha ha ha)? Or do I cancel my tests?

I also haven't hear from The Beast for over 24 hours.

In summary, thank God for long phone calls with friends.

I think the events of this last month might be all about teaching me about giving up control. Too bad the teaching is being done with a barely-padded cricket bat.
